The Level 1 books in this series (Green) are excellent for students who want to move from leveled readers for children to standard novel-type books, but are worried that the books may be difficult. These books are interesting stories, but the sentences are very short and easy. Here is an example, from Child's Play:
I see a man on the other side of the platform. He sees me too. Then, he walks away quickly. I watch him go. He looks back at me, just once.
